Awarding Agency: US Army

Contract Number: W5170125CA232

Project Description: The U.S. Army’s modernization strategy emphasizes decision speed and operational readiness, yet current long-range communication systems are ill-suited to handle the expanding streams of sensor data from advanced vehicles and weapon platforms. Predictive Logistics, which enables commanders and maintainers to anticipate equipment needs, has demonstrated value but remains limited by data transfer constraints outside motorpools.

Forward Edge-AI, in partnership with Verizon, is developing a secure wireless data transfer solution leveraging Isidore Quantum®. Operating at Layer 2 (MACSec), Isidore Quantum® is protocol-agnostic, hardware-agnostic, and compliant with the CNSA Suite 2.0, making it resistant to quantum computing threats today. It is also significantly faster to implement and more cost-effective than alternative encryption methods, while remaining non-CCI, easing adoption and sustainment.

The solution architecture integrates Isidore Quantum® with Verizon’s cellular and satellite backhaul capabilities to transmit vehicle sensor data securely to Army Vantage dashboards in both CONUS and OCONUS environments. Phase I will establish technical feasibility through five objectives: defining data parameters, determining integration feasibility, developing a TRL 5 proof-of-concept prototype, evaluating network performance in Denied, Degraded, Intermittent, and Limited (DDIL) environments, and assessing user adoption.

The solution addresses critical gaps in military sustainment by combining quantum-resistant encryption and secure 5G/satellite backhaul with the power of agentic AI. This integration enables predictive logistics systems to shift from reactive monitoring to autonomous, proactive decision-making—automating supply management, optimizing logistics scenarios, performing predictive maintenance, and adapting in degraded communication environments. The result is a resilient, future-proof logistics framework that enhances operational efficiency, reduces human burden, and delivers commanders decision superiority, creating a self-healing, adaptive sustainment network that strengthens mission readiness in an era of global uncertainty.

Moreover, integrating blockchain with Isidore Quantum® encryption and Agentic AI creates a secure, autonomous, and transparent predictive logistics framework that strengthens both military and commercial supply chains. Blockchain provides an immutable, decentralized ledger that guarantees trusted data provenance and traceability, while Isidore Quantum® ensures quantum-resistant, zero-trust security for data in transit. Building on this secure foundation, Agentic AI leverages blockchain-verified records to autonomously forecast needs, optimize logistics, and execute maintenance or resupply through smart contracts with minimal human intervention. Together, these technologies deliver decision superiority, operational resilience, and future-proof protection against emerging threats, ensuring logistics operations remain trustworthy, adaptive, and mission-ready.

This Phase I effort lays the foundation for Phase II, where prototypes will be refined and scaled toward full operational deployment, ensuring the Army remains resilient against emerging cyber and quantum-era threats.

Description: SmartBeam QRC™ is a next-generation, AI-driven, quantum-resilient communications platform engineered to provide secure, low-probability-of-detection (LPD), low-probability-of-interception (LPI), and anti-jam (AJ) links for unmanned and crewed systems operating in contested electromagnetic environments. Unlike legacy communications systems that rely on static radio links, PKI chains, or bulky key loaders, SmartBeam QRC™ employs neuromorphic AI-controlled adaptive beamforming and CNSA 2.0–compliant post-quantum encryption (Isidore Quantum®) to autonomously sense, evade, and deceive electronic threats.

Demonstrated in U.S. Navy exercises such as Silent Swarm 2025, the platform delivered a 3× improvement in LPI/LPD performance and 60× bandwidth gains over standard SDRs, while being four times harder to detect than protocol-based radios.

This compact, low-SWaP device enables resilient, protocol-free, covert communications across UAVs, USVs, UUVs, and mobile command posts—even in GPS-denied and SATCOM-limited environments. In contrast to current EW technologies, which often require heavy cryptographic infrastructure and are vulnerable to quantum-era decryption or RF jamming, SmartBeam QRC™ integrates AI-driven RF deception, stealth, self-healing mesh networking, and ephemeral key generation to eliminate COMSEC burdens and future-proof communications. By merging stealth, autonomy, and quantum resilience, SmartBeam QRC™ extends the U.S. military’s ability to maintain secure spectrum dominance, ensuring operational advantage under JADC2, Ghost Fleet Overlord, and distributed maritime operations initiatives.
