The Isidore Quantum® One-Way Data Diode by Forward Edge-AI is a quantum-resistant, hardware/software-defined, and AI-managed unidirectional data transfer device.
Traditional one-way data diodes provide physical isolation but do not protect outbound data from future quantum decryption or HNDL-related data loss. Forward Edge-AI’s Isidore Quantum® sets a new benchmark with a one-way diode that performs unidirectional encryption using NSA CNSA 2.0–compliant post-quantum algorithms while eliminating the need for bidirectional key exchanges.
The product enforces true one-way data flow from secure networks (red/OT domains) to untrusted networks (black/IT domains), preventing any return path for cyber threats. Protocol independence, hardware agnosticism, AI-driven control, and high energy efficiency enable secure and scalable deployment across critical infrastructure.
By integrating unidirectional transfer, quantum-grade encryption, and autonomous resilience, Isidore Quantum® ensures continuous data protection against both current and post-quantum threats, providing genuine future-ready security.
How It Works
Mechanics:
Dual encryption units (EU1, EU2) apply AES-256 ML-KEM and ML-DSA post-quantum encryption
A Network Interface Device (NID) transmits data via UDP only, with the receive channel physically removed to prevent inbound data
Galvanic isolation and VLAN tagging circuits maintain trust boundaries and logical channel separation
CASSIAN™ software manages configuration, diagnostics, and security policy enforcement
Architecture:
Works across point-to-point, hub-and-spoke, or mesh networks
No special hardware rewiring—software settings enforce unidirectional flow
AI-driven self-healing monitors for anomalies and automatically reconfigures routing to maintain data integrity
Why It Matters
Problem:
Traditional data diodes (like OPSWAT NetWall or Waterfall Security Gateways) rely on fixed optical hardware, are costly, and rigid in protocol support. They enforce one-way communication but struggle with scalability and dynamic mission needs. Traditional data diodes also break encryption.
Isidore’s Edge:
Hybrid Hardware/Software-defined vs. hardware or software only enforcement
Post-quantum encryption built-in — future-proof against quantum decryption
AI autonomy for real-time threat response and key management
Energy-efficient: fanless, metal-encased, under 8W power draw
Compliant: FIPS 140-3 validated, CNSA 2.0 compliant, Common Criteria pending
Use Cases
Defense Command & Control:
Securely transmits telemetry, mission updates, and radar data from forward assets without risk of inbound malware. Configurable per-channel one-way enforcement supports dynamic field ops.Industrial Control Systems (ICS):
Bridges OT and IT environments—allowing operational data export (e.g., SCADA → monitoring center) while keeping control networks isolated.Sensor Networks:
Safely sends environmental, telemetry, or safety data across mobile, fixed, or unmanned platforms — ensuring zero backchannel exposure.
