IMPORTANT: After downloading the app, go to the Settings Menu, scroll to the bottom of the screen, and either take a screen shot or write down your Identification Number to save for future reference. We do not store your private information on our servers and are unable to assist you with your account without that number.

I paid for the App and recently switched phones or SIM cards and the app no longer works. How can I restore the app or switch to my new phone?

The App is designed to detect possible SIM Swap Scams. This is a feature designed to protect you. Because we do not store your private information on our servers, the only way for us to help you, is for you you to contact customer support and provide your 16 digit Identification Number.

I redeemed points but my gift card never arrived. What happened?

Electronic gift cards are automatically sent to the email you provide. Please check your SPAM or Junk folder. Also, make sure the email address you entered is correct.

Why are there no trials?

Users collect points and may redeem them immediately for gift cards. It wouldn't be fair to us if users signed up for a trial, collected and redeemed their points, and then quit the app.

Why does Gabriel require so many permissions to work?

To maximize your privacy and security, we do not store any personal information on our servers. This means that the app has to perform all functions on your phone, whereas other products perform those same functions in the cloud. By requiring additional steps in the onboarding process, we eliminate any chance of your data being stolen from a centralized server.

Gabriel sends results to our servers like calls you vote to block by pressing thumbs down. This crowdsourced intelligence enables us to more quickly identify spam and scam calls and block them for the entire community.

Gabriel is not working correctly. What can I do?

Gabriel has over 2 Billion spoof numbers and more than 2 million SPAM numbers in its global database. Although we do everything we can to avoid them, occasionally an outage may happen, or spammers may call from a new number, not on our list.

To contact customer support, tap the settings button at the bottom menu, scroll down, and tap contact us. Also, try:

  • Tap the magnifying glass at the bottom menus, scroll to contacts, and add all numbers you want to ring to your whitelist by tapping the heart. The numbers with hearts will always ring through no matter your settings

  • Check settings for the desired level of blocking

  • Uninstall Gabriel and restart your device

  • Reinstall Gabriel

How can prevent Spoofed Calls?

If the caller has an Android phone, locate their call in your call log at your bottom menu. Tap the Caller ID, then tap thumbs up. Gabriel will ask if you would like to set up Call with Confirm? Tap yes. The Android user will receive a link to install Gabriel. Each time that person calls, Gabriel will automatically verify the call is not spoofed.

Why is Gabriel blocking a contact from calling me?

Tap Look Up (magnifying glass) at your bottom menu. Then tap “Blacklist” and make sure the contact is not on your Blacklist. Then enter the contact’s number in the search (Reverse Number Lookup) to make sure that the caller is not on the Global Blacklist. If the caller is on the Global Blacklist and you still want to receive calls from that number, then vote SAFE to add the caller to your whitelist. You also may need to adjust your settings.

Why are my emails getting deleted?

Gabriel does not impact email and is not at all connected with your email service.

What are Purple Alerts?

A Purple Alert notifies you when a friend or family member receives a scam text message so you can intervene in real-time. To set up a Purple Alert, have your friend or family member tap “Points,” at the bottom menu, then scroll to the bottom and tap Setup Purple Alerts. Tap “Protect Friends & Family,” then tap the “+” symbol. Ask them to locate your contact information and add you to their favorites. Each time they receive a scam text, you will be alerted.

Is there a way to prevent blocked calls from going to voicemail?

Unfortunately, we cannot prevent blocked calls from going to voicemail. This is a limitation from Android and Apple that prevents us from hanging up on blocked calls. As this limitation is lifted, we will make it available to you.

Is there a way to see calls that have been blocked?

Yes, tap “calls” in your bottom menu.

Is there any way to block all unknown caller ID/private callers?

Yes, tap settings in your bottom menu.

Is there any way to block all international calls?

Yes, tap settings in your bottom menu.

Is there a way to import or export the block list after un/reinstalling?

Yes, this is done automatically.

How do I look up unknown numbers?

Tap the search button (magnifying glass) at the bottom menu and enter the phone number in the search field.

Are spam numbers updated automatically or do I have to manually update them?

Gabriel automatically adds new spam numbers to our database every day. Scammers are constantly changing their phone numbers to avoid being blocked by our app. Typically a scammer's number will only be active for 3 days before it is deactivated.

Do you have access to my call logs or contacts?

No.

How do I cancel my service?

Uninstall the app. We do not have your information and have no way of reaching you.

How do I contact support?

Tap on the settings button at the bottom menu, scroll to the bottom, and tap “Contact Us.”
