1. INTRODUCTION

Forward Edge-AI, Inc. ("Forward Edge-AI", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Blaise® XTech iOS mobile application (the "App"), which serves as a companion application for the Blaise® handheld Raman spectrometer hardware.

This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with your use of the App.

The App is built on a privacy-by-design architecture. Because the Blaise® spectrometer is used in sensitive defense, public safety, and laboratory environments, we designed the App to collect no personal information and to store all scan data exclusively on the user’s device. This means there is no user data for us to lose, share, or be compelled to disclose.

2. INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT

The App is designed to operate without collecting personal information. Specifically, we do not:

  • Require you to create an account or sign in

  • Collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information

  • Track your location or movement

  • Access your contacts, calendar, photos, or other personal data on your device

  • Collect device identifiers for advertising purposes

  • Use third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services

The App does not participate in tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework and does not request tracking permission from users.

3. INFORMATION STORED LOCALLY ON YOUR DEVICE

The App stores the following information locally on your device, under your control:

  • Scan history: results of material identification tests performed with the connected Blaise® spectrometer, including timestamps, sample identifiers, identified substances, confidence scores, and Raman spectrum data

  • App preferences and settings

This information remains on your device and is not transmitted to Forward Edge-AI or any third party. You can delete this data at any time by deleting individual reports within the App, or by uninstalling the App.

3A. DATA SECURITY

All scan data and application settings are stored within the App's iOS sandbox, which prevents other applications from accessing this information. The App communicates with the Blaise® spectrometer exclusively via Bluetooth Low Energy using standard iOS security protocols. Because no data is transmitted to Forward Edge-AI servers or any third party, there is no remote attack surface associated with user data. You may delete all locally stored data at any time by removing individual reports within the App or by uninstalling the App.

3B. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

Because the App does not collect or transmit personal information, many rights typically associated with privacy regulations (such as access requests, correction, portability, or deletion requests to a company) are unnecessary. You already have complete control:

  • Access: All scan data is stored on your device and viewable within the App at any time.

  • Deletion: You may delete individual scan reports within the App or remove all data by uninstalling the App.

  • Bluetooth: You may revoke Bluetooth permission at any time through your device's Settings, which will prevent the App from communicating with the spectrometer but will not affect previously stored scan data.

If you have questions about your rights under applicable privacy laws, please contact us using the information in Section 7.

4. BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY

The App uses Bluetooth Low Energy to communicate with the Blaise® handheld Raman spectrometer. This connection is used solely to:

  • Discover and pair with the spectrometer hardware

  • Send scan commands to the spectrometer

  • Receive spectrum data from the spectrometer

Bluetooth is not used to collect, transmit, or share any information about you or your device with any third party.

The App requests Bluetooth permission solely for the purposes described above. No other device permissions (such as location, camera, microphone, contacts, or photo library) are requested or required.

5. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The App is intended for use by trained professionals in laboratory, industrial, defense, and field analysis settings. It is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or such higher age as applicable under local law), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App collects no personal information from any user, COPPA compliance obligations related to data collection do not arise.

6. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through an in-app notice or by updating the App Store listing prior to the changes taking effect. We will revise the 'Last Updated' date at the top of this policy with each update.

7. CONTACT US

If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or the App's privacy practices, please contact us:

8. GOVERNING LAW AND INTERNATIONAL USE

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Texas and the federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Forward Edge-AI, Inc. is a Texas corporation headquartered in San Antonio, Texas.

The App may be available in jurisdictions outside the United States. Because the App does not collect or transmit personal data, the cross-border data transfer restrictions found in laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) do not apply to your use of the App. If you have questions about the App's compatibility with local privacy requirements, please contact us.
